Autumn and Thanksgiving Fun

Love this!
Thanksgiving is almost here. Time for turkey, dressing and green bean casserole. The smell of leaves and bonfires are in the air and being with loved ones for the holidays gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
I love interior design and crafty things for the home. So here are a few ideas I have found that I thought were neat for parties and, or a family get together.

cheese graters with candles in them
This first one is to use a cheese grater as a table display with a votive candle inside or an LED light. This idea is so cute and very vintage. You can find old cheese graters, round or square, at flea markets or on the internet. A tray with flowers or leaves as accents, will complete your table decor.

I don't know whether you have a big family or a small one, but either way Thanksgiving name placement is definitely a must. Start by writing one of your guests names on a fresh or dried leaf using a sharpie. Then tie it to a cloth napkin with a printed ribbon. And TA-DA!

Another cute fall idea is pumpkin goodie bags!

You can draw your own pumpkin on stock paper or get a stencil off the internet. Then color it and attach it to a colored goodie bag from your local party store or use a fall colored piece of cloth. Put your gift inside, whether its candy, cookies or a candle. Then tie it at the top with a piece of pipe-cleaner.

Whether you decide to use any of these ideas or you have some of your own, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and you fill up on some good tasty food!

  1. Here in Canada we have already had Thanksgiving (October 8th) but I still loved all of these wonderful cute ideas! Most especially the two top ones. Soo cool. The cheese grater one reminds me of something my family used to make as gifts. We'd tie ribbons to an old cheese grater, dry fruit (like apple circles) and attach one to the cheese grater, add some other stuff, and then give it to people as a gift for their house as a decoration. It looked really good. :)

I too am completely obsessed with interior design, and can't wait to make my house a home someday and make it beautiful.

Thanks for the ideas, great post!
